First Edition Signed
FIRST EDITION. Half title. Orig. brown cloth. White pictorial d.w., unclipped; sl. marked & top edge a little browned. Inscribed from Charles Wintour 'For Roy Wright, you'll need the luck 12 December 75' and signed by Edna O'Brien, Bernard Levin, Freddie Young, Antonia Fraser, Milton Shulman, and Benedict Nightingale. A fairly upbeat offering from Tynan, the critical scourge, inscribed by the former editor of the Evening Standard, Charles Wintour and signed by several other prominent writers of the time (including Edna O'Brien and Antonia Fraser), to Roy Wright upon the latter assuming editorship of the Daily Express. In the event, the rather sardonic inscription was merited; Wright only lasted seventeen months in the role before being fired, and replaced by Derek Jameson.
