First Edition
First Edition. London. A. & C. Black, Ltd. 1931. First Edition. Octavo (7 x 5). 96 pp. Color illustrated frontispiece drawn by Capt. J. P. Moreton showing a hooked salmon leaping at the foot of a waterfall. Chapter vignettes. This was Haig-Brown's first book and it was the precursor to a magnificent literary career. The book is bound in the original bright green cloth with gilt titles on the spine. Pictorial dust jacket (May McGregor's art deco illustrated dust jacket is perfect). An impressively beautiful example of this book. By far the nicest example I've seen in 30 years, and it's likely the finest you'll see as well. The book is in fine condition in an equally fine dust jacket.
