Book First Edition
Hardback. Condition: Near fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Norman McBeath (photographs) (illustrator). First edition. Enitharmon Press, London, 2009. First edition. Book condition: near fine. Small are of light scuffing to rear board. Internally very clean and unmarked. Dust jacket: good. Unclipped and with only very minor wear. Some damp staining to rear at upper and lower edges. Plan B is an extraordinarily successful collaboration between the poet Paul Muldoon and the acclaimed Scottish photographer Norman McBeath, in which there is an uncanny relationship between word and the black and white image. Although a McBeath photograph (of a statue of Apollo wrapped in polythene) is directly invoked in one poem much of the success of this beautifully produced book has to do with indirection and evocation. Book.
