Folio. 365mm x 260mm. 32 pp. Illustrated, paper-covered boards in lovely bright condition with minimal touches of edge wear. The jacket is unclipped (10s 6d net) with a smallish chip to the top left-hand edge of the front panel, continuing to the rear panel. Jacket now in a removable protective mylar sleeve. No inscriptions or blemishes within. An excellent example of this title. Kathleen Hale [1898-2000] was one of the first illustrators to use the new technique of photolithography in the Orlando books. She used the large format of the Orlando books to great effect. This title is the ninth in the long-running series. A really charming tale of how a dog insinuates himself into the Orlando household and becomes a pet to the family despite his over-exuberant behaviour.
