Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. FIRST PRINTING by Serendipity Press in 1965, quarter-bound green cloth over mottled light green boards with a red "18" flag on the cover, in cream-colored slipcase, foreword by Herbert Warren Wind, 152pp. Laid in is an October 1992 "Golf Jounal" article on Hautlain and his book originally written in 1908. Very Good with a bit of wear at the corners; owner embossed stamp on ffep; some highlighting typical of books from the Dick Mindlin golf book collection. The slipcase is Very Good with minot wear and a bit of darkening on the spine. A discussion that treats as its starting point the idea that "In golf the mind plays a curious and important part," and then expands upon the idea by philosophical speculation, psychological introspection and an examination of neuro-physiology. A real classic and quite uncommon in this 1965 reprinting.
