Seller: Denton Island Books, Newhaven, United Kingdom
Softcover. Condition: Fine. A very clean, bright copy. Crease to top corner of rear cover. This book was produced to accompany an exhibition of the same name that has travelled, in 2012, from Penzance to Nottingham and Worcester. But the book stands alone, quite apart from the exhibition, as an excellent introduction to the art of Laura Knight and especially the paintings that she did out of doors. It covers work she did at Staithes, in Cornwall and at Malvern and is beautifully illustrated. Although they are touched on the book does not deal with the pictures she produced of the theatre, the circus and her work at the Nuremburg Tribunal, those being out of the scope of the 'Open Air' subject matter. Well worth getting as the exhibition brought together paintings from many private and world wide public collections and the illustrations include many of them. (Reader review) 128 pages. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Art & Design; Inventory No: dscf10906.
