Taschenbuch. Kartoniert. Condition: Sehr gut. Deutsche Erstausgabe. 686 (2) Seiten. 18,6 cm. Umschlaggestaltung: Nele Schütz Design. Sehr guter Zustand. . Aus: wikipedia-David_Brin. Octavo, boards. First edition. ". a near-future thriller that posits the idea that people can create short-lived duplicates of themselves, 'dittos,' to perform routine or dangerous acts. Private detective Al Morris uses a variety of dittos to investigate corruption that centers around the makers of dittos, but in the process Brin questions who is the real Al Morris and, even more interestingly, examines a host of ontological problems raised by ditto technology. For the most part, Brin skillfully balances these philosophical issues with a gripping thriller, bringing a remarkable new dimension to traditional SF stories of golems and robots." - Anatomy of Wonder (2004) II-160. Vassilakos and Vassilakos-Long, Strange Cases (2009), pp. 111-13. A fine copy in fine dust jacket. (#145488).
