Cloth. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. Book Club. The Bay Islands are the archipelagos of the Andemans and the Nicobars -- a cluster of 214 primitive islands shunned for bad climate, swampy forests and hostile tribes -- and they are remote as in the 19th Cent. the British made a penal colony there for long-term convicts from India and Burma and quarantined it so successfully that only civilians on official business ever visited it. The author just had to visit such a mysterious and unknown place and while there lived with a stone-age tribe and talked to the old convicts. HB. Blue cloth boards with black lettering to spine. 192 pages. DJ unclipped, dj spine somewhat faded. Book tight and clean.
