DJ has edgewear and has a small piece missing at the bottom of the spine, it is covered in a clear protective wrapper. There is one library stamp inside the front cover and one to the fep and one more on the title page. There are 3 marks on the fep and inside the fronrt cover where cellotape has been removed and likewise on the back cover. There is also some slight staining to a few pages on the extreme edges. There is also a neat number written on to the dedication page. Otherwise it is clean and bright. Contains black & white illustrations. Seller Ref:9886.

There is a pencil inscrition on the front free endpaper from the previous owner saying this copy belonged to General Herbert Gibson, 2nd in Command at Bataan and held as a POW for 4 years. It says that Jimmy Doolittle was a lifelong friend and gave him this book. There is a small card laid in stating, "with love from the Doolittles". Doesn't appear to be General Doolittle's writing.
