The author was the director of the Yal University Art Gallery. 128 pages including index, illustrated with70 photographs and drawings. The front board has torn aay from the backstrip at the top edge. The ackstrip is sunned and rubbed. The covers are rubbed,worn,soiled and bumped. Writing and a sticker on the FFEP. There are a few lightly soiled pages.

Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. 128 pp. There are 56 reproductions in colour and monochrome and fourteen text illustrations in line, which includes a colour frontispiece. Pictorial dust wrapper, price clipped. There are a couple of tears to the wrapper at the head and the tail of the spine, the longest being 25 mm. Some loss for a few mm to the wrapper at the tail of the spine and at the corners. The edges of the wrapper are rubbed and there is light soiling to the wrapper. Vignette to the front board. There are a couple of light bumps to the boards. Neat Ink name and address inscription to the front paste down. Clean and fresh interior. A very good copy of this history book of American silver.
