I just took the 1969 edition of this very handy book with me on an 8-day motorized trip down the canyon. Another rafter had this 1991 version, which had been much improved. I was able to tell where we were at all times -- to know what rapids were ahead, to know how far we'd traveled that day, and to know the names of the side canyons as they passed, among other things. The book's explanation of the Canyon's geology is the most understandable I have seen. Best of all, the book is waterproof, so it was completely accessible throughout the trip. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 79 pages.
