Faint wear to covers; last few leaves bumped, else fine. xii, 174, [4] pages. The personal memoirs of Guy Carr (1901-2000), legendary auto dealer of Beaverton, Oregon, who owned dealerships from 1923 until 1987. In an interview format, Carr describes the first fifty years of his life. The first third of the book covers his early years in Telluride, Colorado, and then in Galax and Chantilly, Virginia, with the narrative progressing through his employment at a Ford dealership (1916) where he worked on Model T's and trucks, and his enlistment in the Army during World War I. The rest of the volume is given to his years in Beaverton, in 1919 and after, describing both his personal life and his professional experiences as an auto dealer for Ford, Durant-Star, Nash, and then Chevrolet.
