Book
Cloth, 8vo, 22 cm, xii, 400, 41 pp, iv leaves of plates. A reprint with amendments of the 1934 first edition of Carter & Pollard's famous expose of T J Wise. From the introduction: "The main text of this volume stands as originally printed in 1934, without alteration. In a few places, however, we feit that minor corrections or explanations were required; these have been indicated in the margin of the relevant pages, and the amendments will be found, keyed in to the page to which they refer, following the main text. There is, in addition, an epilogue in which the course of events leading up to the publication of An Enquiry and its immediate aftermath are set out: this was originally written by Carter and Pollard as the first of several new chapters for a second edition. The major amplifications required by forty-nine years of more or less continuous work have resulted in a complete book, . "A Sequel to 'An Enquiry'"." (NB: The sequel volume is not included here). Fine in Near Fine dustwrapper.
