Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Remy Chaplip (illustrator). First Edition. Stated First Hopscotch Edition, 1989, Originally published 1956. Lovely almost square book in red cloth covered boards with sharp tips and spine ends have a touch of light soil on rear board and the word "Reject" stamped on frt board above the embossed image of the sun with rays radiating outwards all round. Besides the faint, light amount of surface soil on the rear board, we cannot find anything wrong with this book whatsoever and have no idea why it may have been 'rejected'. Unmarked turquoise endpapers have no names or marks, 46 pp text is tight and bright. The yellow background, unclipped dust jacket has a drawing of someone's right hand facing upwards with a small toy indian standing on the palm, wearing his red sash and 'loin- cloth style garment and a full yellow feather headdress. This dj is a professional reproduction, now in new mylar and displays beautifully. This is a darling story about how one can have different perspectives and see at things in various ways. Deep in the woods, David finds a real Indian no bigger than an ear of corn, and together they find something to appreciate about each day.
