First Edition Signed
[Poetry] SIGNED FIRST EDITION. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.xxiii; [1]; 360. Publisher's deep pink cloth lettered in gilt to spine, photographic dust-jacket with printed price of £10.00 to front flap. SIGNED by the author in black ink to half title page. Errata slip loosely inserted, photographic flyleaf. Toning and spotting to edges of text-block, light bumping to spine, spotting and soiling to dust-jacket, wearing to edges. Very good. Ronald Duncan led an extraordinary life: he lived with Gandhi at age 22, he co-founded the English Opera Company, was a friend of Pound, Eliot and Auden. His 'precision of phrasing' and 'passionate integrity of feeling' creates an enjoyable collection of poetry. This first edition is signed by the author in black ink on the half title page.
