Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Photos by Irvine Butterfield, Gordon Gadsby /Maps by Don Sargeant (illustrator). "Third Impression April 1982" of a book first published 1980. Very good but with previous owner's bookplate removed from front pastedown and with moderate rub to bottoms of boards. Yes, though they may not reach alpine elevations, there are arduous snow-covered crags in the British Isles. These 55 walks "present a considerable challenge. Each of the chosen walks can be completed in a day but many are long and demanding and, in difficult conditions, may require all-round mountaineering skill to complete in safety. However, the less energetic walker will find little difficulty in adapting most of the described routes into shorter expeditions. . . ." Five of the walks are in Ireland, one in Dartmoor, most in Wales and the Scottish Highlands, none in the flatlands southeast of Manchester. (Presumably those wishing to hike from Norwich to Great Yarmouth are not expected to need much guidance.) Profusely illustrated with large scenic photographs, most in color. 256 pp. Reduced from $20.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. "The author takes us on many memorable expeditions in his sea kayak to wild and beautiful shores. With him we experience the magic of remote islands, the adventure of long sea crossings, the exploration of sea caves and the inaccessible places which only a kayak can go, - the terrors of the Corryvreckan whirlpool and of a force nine gale. This is a book for those seeking wider horizons, be their vessel an armchair or a kayak." A fine clean unmarked copy, presumably the property of the armchair kind of owner. 192 p. Book.
