[0-85628 036 4] 1976, 1st UK. (hardcover) Fine in fine dust jacket. 89pp. 16mo. Tells the story of Johnny and Diane Laski, a sculptor and his wife, who live in the Maine countryside. They try to have a baby during a cold winter and this novella describes their dash to the hospital in the dark of night, the long labour, and their failed breech birth. A reminder of how birth SND death are intertwined, but still, not a narrative without hope. Signed to title page. A fine / fine copy. Jacket protected in loose mylar sleeve.
