Hardcover. Both volumes: Navy blue cloth with gold lettering; glossy white dj with color illustration and black lettering. Vol. I has 438 pp.; Vol. II has 477 pp. Both are full of color plates with additional color and bw figured. TWO VOLUME SET. Text is in Italian and English. Each volume is, essentially, in two parts: the entire first halves in Italian, and the whole thing repeated in English (with the same illustrations), in the second half, ending with an extensive bibliography. Volume I contains maps in both sections. Volume II includes an analytic index and notes for integration between the two volumes, although the table of contents lists this as being on page 481, and it is on page 477, the last page of the book. Volume I contains information about the collection; the 15th century; Deruta and Siena; Faenza; history of the Urbino school; majolica of Gubbio; ornamental decoration of Urbino majolica; Venice; and Castelli. Volume II briefly discusses the collecting of majolica and then covers Tuscany; Deruta and Perugia; Faenza; Forli; history of the Urbino School; ornamental decoration of the Urbino area; Gubbio; Castelli; and the diffusion of Italian majolica throughout Europe. (Note: the duplication of content areas in both volumes does not mean the duplication of actual material.) An amazing pair of catalogues with vibrant plates. Vol. 2 ISBN is 9788889797051. This price is for BOTH VOLUMES, no matter what the title may indicate. Everything NF, but Vol. I front board is lightly warped.
