Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Second edition. Fine in slightly age-toned, near fine dustwrapper with a short tear at the crown. Inscribed by the author to noted Princeton author and historian Eric Goldman: "For Prof. Goldman - Who did not read the galleys of this book in advance of publication! Best regards, Marvin Kitman." Kitman has also effaced and initialed Goldman's name in the Acknowledgements where he repeats that Goldman did not review the book because his "comments would have been typical of the nit-picking and back-biting so commonplace amonst true scholars." Goldman served as the "intellectual in residence" in the Lyndon Johnson administration, replacing Arthur Schlesinger after Kennedy's assassination. An amusing association.
