Postcard is very clean and intact overall except for slight surface wear on front and back, slight corner wear, and a minuscule spot on part of the image. A Very Good copy. This postcard shows a bucolic scene in Smith's Parish, Bermuda. A man rides on a horse-drawn cart headed down a dirt road. A quaint cottage is in the foreground. Smith's Parish is named after Sir Thomas Smith (also, Smythe; 1558-1625), an English aristocrat and investor. Smith's Parish is one of nine parishes in Bermuda and all of them are named after chief investors who backed the Somers Isles Company. Somers Isles was another name for Bermuda.
