Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 234 pages (complete). A MOST UNIQUE copy. This copy was Vine's own pre-proof editing copy. Considerable amount of editing notes, comments, updates, inserts throughout. A note pasted on the front board, in Vine's own handwriting: "Final corrected copy. Only proof to see now,- which I shall return the day I receive it, and almost without an alteration so carefully done is this. A Vine Hall". All editing etc in Vine's own handwriting. The notes are exceptionally detailed and precise. Despite the wear and use, the book thrills with the intimacy it brings with it, the originality of its presence. It is seems trivial to quibble too much about wear, scuffing, marking as much of it was due to handling by Vine during the process. Nonetheless, the boards do have some areas of sunning, scuffing, wear. They are comfortable, sure. The pages are certain, neat, most agreeable. A wonderfully characterful copy. fk.
