Smith (1872 - 1930) was a British Conservative politician and a lawer who was also Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and a great friend of Winston Churchill. This book was one of his last. A little spotting to the foredge of the book and a few whitish spots to the original blue publisher's binding; the gilt spine lettering is dull. No owner name or other markings to the interior or exterior. ; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 426 pages.

CONDITION Black waxed cloth bds with crisp Red titles, pp xi 215 with fronti illus and 8 plates, very bright and crisp copy one tissue guard missing, the rest are snowy white with 2 laid in and tears to bottom of one. Cloth unworn with mild silverfish speckling to wax top and bottom edges front and top edge rear. Orinal DJ is torn with loss top front some silverfish damage bottom front, tear to spine head and stain to heel. OVERWEIGHT Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
