Blue coloured tint to the top text edge. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for frontispiece, with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and I'm assuming, the backstrip. A young boy is befriended by beautiful North Wind. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with a little bumping of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. A little chipping of the dustwrapper corners and rubbing of the dustwrapper edges. The top one and 1/2 inches of the top and bottom backstrip panel is missing and there is a 5 inch tear that runs along the front spine gutter edge  please see photograph there is 1/2 inch tear to the lower edge of the front panel, with associated creasing. Pages are lightly tanned with moderate foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription and retail sticker to front paste-down and front free endpaper, with grey rubbing and a few small nicks along text block edge. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Minor dog-eared corners. Notable cracking to gutter of title page and page 276 with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Fold-out pages are lightly tanned and moderately foxed, with folding to edges. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with slight bumping and fraying to corners, and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a mild forward lean. Water drop on front board. Gilt lettering is fairly bright and clear.

Covers show a little light wear around the corners and at the head and base of the spine. Dust jacket is age toned and edgeworn, with a bunch of small chips missing along the edges and a larger chip missing from the head of the spine. The dust jacket spine is particularly age toned and there are some small brown stains scattered across the dust jacket. 281pp.
