Heavy chipping, fraying and tearing to spine. Corners bumped and worn. Discoloration, staining and scuffing to boards. Hinges starting. Decorated title page. Page following title repaired along gutter with binders tape. "Shakespeare's comedy of the Merry Wives of Windsor presented in eight pen designs by Walter Crane". The b/w plates are mounted on stiff white pages. Chipping to bottom right corner throughout not affecting text or plates. Some age yellowing to pages. Signed by Walter Crane and the engraver, Duncan C. Dallas. Binding in poor, interior in good condition.

Engraved and printed by Duncan C Dallas. 169/650 copies of a limited edition signed by Crane and Dallas. A note by Dallas states that the plates have been destroyed after printing. No text. Dallastype plates are mounted on thick card mounts with protective sheets. Strip down inner hinges at both front and rearare foxed and front hinge is a little pulled. Boards are slightly spotted and rubbed.
