PB. 27pp Images and extensive detail on our website - ask for link. The FUGS' SONGBOOK is from the counterculture NYC band founded in 1964. This first edition consists of two preliminary pages followed by 27 numbered pages. Later editions were published by: The Sexual Freedom League of San Francisco (second edition); and, Artist's Workshop Press in Detroit (1966 and 67). There are some ephemeral faults - on front cover a glass stain ring and name, and a pencil drawing on the right corner. The last page (also the rear cover) is detached, and serves as the rear cover. If there was a blank leave following as a rear cover, I do not know. Again, please email for images. good, side stapled mimeographed sheets (softcover) SEE NOTE.

26 pp. 1 vols. 4to. First edition. First edition. 26 pp. 1 vols. 4to. In rare condition. Poets Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg founded the legendary underground rock band, The Fugs, in 1964. The FBI, in their file on the noise-rock band, called them "most vulgar thing the human mind could possibly conceive". Sanders founded Fuck You/A Magazine of the Arts in 1962, and in 1963, opened the Peace Eye bookstore and publisher. Printed yellow paper covers with slightest chips, colored paper sheets, evenly toned, very near fine for such an ephemeral publication, held in custom cloth drop box.
