Original Calendar - "With the Best Wishes of Ryan & McPhillips, The Kimball Store, Kimball, South Dakota; Glorious Night"

No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Good. Original illustrated calendar for 1918 featuring a color illustration of a picturesque moonlit scene of a bay or harbor with a tree, beach, and boat in the foreground. The title of the illustration, "Glorious Night," is printed in the lower-right corner. The calendar portion is composed of small leaves of beige paper stapled to bottom margin of the illustrated portion or backing. There were likely leaves for each month of 1918, but the only months that remain are August through December. Backing: 9" x 18." Illustration: 6" x 12." Calendar portion: 4 1/2" x 2 1/4." Calendar is clean and intact overall but is missing the leaves for the months of January through July 1918 which appear to have been torn off. Backing has a surface tear limited to upper-right margin measuring about 1 1/2" x 1," a few closed tears along the edges with the largest measuring about 1/2," slight wrinkling, and light to moderate dampstaining or soiling in the lower-left corner. The only perceptible damage to the illustration are a few wrinkles. A Good copy. From Ryan & McPhillips, The Kimball Store in Kimball, South Dakota. Original punched hole at top for display.
