Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. The first edition of this anthology - a selection of undergraduate writings from Harvard luminaries; commencing with Theodore Roosevelt ( 1880 ) and ending with Norman Mailer ( 1943 ). The selections include essays, short stories, poetry and all manner of undergraduate advocacy. Contributors include Franklin Roosevelt, Wallace Stevens, T. S. Eliot, E. E. Cummings, Robert Benchley, Conrad Aiken, John Reed, Corliss Lamont, Maxwell Perkins and a great many others. The Mailer piece is a short story entitled ' Maybe Next Year '. The near fine price clipped dust jacket is a touch spine toned with a small chip at the top of the spine and a narrow two inch strip torn from the top edge of the front panel. The contributions represent early - and in some cases, quite immature - efforts from some of the twentieth centuries most significant authors, and particularly its poets.
