Thick Royal 8vo. 291pp, printed on thick creamy handmade paper attractively untrimmed. Very good clean tight sound, very slightly shaken, no bookplate, inscription or marks of any kind, well held in joints and hinges. Beautifully bound in bright gitl lettered and embossed quarter white vellum leather over teracotta cloth, featuring gilt scrolled vignette to upper board with patch of sunning to head, top edge gilt. Vellum is incerasingly uncommon; only one Vellum maker remains in the UK. The Magna Carta is written on vellum and laws in England are still written on vellum. Pierre de Ronsard 152485 was christened Prince of Poets by his contmporaries. Hlne was a noblewoman at the court of Queen Catherine de Medici. Humert Wolfe was one of the most popular British authors of the 1920s, and received a CBE and CB in honour of his work.
