Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 2nd Edition. This is a UK second edition hardcover published by Groombridge and Sons in 1870. Overall I'd describe as Very Good. The main issue is the front board has split along the seam, but this can be easily repaired. The front end paper and colour plate are also mostly detached, but can likewise be easily repaired. I have chosen not to, to preserve the book's integrity. That aside the boards are red but darkened with age and the corners are firm overall and the spine straight, with slightly softened spine ends. The interior has 8 colour plates, which research suggests had tissue guards at some point, but no longer. The binding is tight and the page clean. There is 154 pages plus 4 pages of adverts, and the adverts section has evidence of foxing. The pages of the book itself are clean overall, as per the example photos.
