Beau document.

8vo. 2 pp. Charming letter to the journalist and music critic Charles Vincens, thanking him for his praise of Rémusat's old music criticisms in the Revue musicale and offering his support for Vincens bid for a seat of the Académie de Marseille. Despite Vincens' eulogies, Rémusat criticizes his own writing, specifically his strong opposition to the music of Gioachino Rossini, although he prefers the "great German composers" to this day: "Il y a dans cette Revue musicale des choses, des appréciations, que je n'écrirais peut-être pas aujourd'hui. Concerning the Académie de Marseille, Rémusat announces to write a letter of support to the naturalist and academy member Gaston de Saporta. Vincens was elected to the Académie in 1883. - Well preserved.
