The poetry for these fables was written by Ennis Rees, translator of the Iliad and the Odyssey, Poet Laureate of South Carolina and longtime professor at The University of South Carolina. The illustrations are by Edward Gorey who has signed under his name (which he has marked out) on the title page. Beautifully written and illustrated book.
