Brown cloth hardcover with small pictorial of birds on front cover, without dust jacket, later printing ("Twentieth Thousand"), 304 pages including many black-and-white drawings and photographs, plus Index; gently used, only light shelf wear, some looseness developing in binding (although it appears to have been reglued at some point in the past), one small faded old stain to fore edge of about 40-50 pages with slight penetration to the outer margins of about 30-40 of those (no affect on text or illustrations), but no fore edge finger soiling, interior otherwise very clean and unmarked (no foxing).

An unarmed bomber constructed of wood was against contemporary Air Force thinking but became the most successful fighter-bomber of the Second World War . The Typhoon and Tempest have remained largely unsung but nevertheless played a significant part in the Allied victory.
