Book
Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Blue covers with gilt front cover battle scene. All edges marbled. Tall 8vo, 432 pages. Attached before the "real" title page is the title, dedication & list of portraits pages of Croffut & Morris's "The Military and Civil History of Connecticut during the War of 1861-65". Was this added to disguise the owners Masonic affiliation? Used as a bookmark in the book is the top of a deposit slip "Deposited with T. L. Watson Private Bankers of Bridgeport, Conn.". The spine covering is missing, the covers are off but present - I don't know if they are from the Masonic history book or were from the Connecticut book. I note that some page corners has been folded over, but otherwise the text & illustrations are VG.
