Hardcover. Designed and printed by Eugene V. Connett at The Derrydale Press. Bound in hunter green publisher's cloth. Cover bears gilt border ornamentation and gilt lettering, also on the spine. Gilt top edge. Deckled foredge and foot. Illustrated endpapers are in bright lime green color themes depicting two fishermen on a boat. Generously illustrated throughout with plates of photographs, maps, drawings and diagrams both in color and in black and white. Many illustrations are protected by a tissue leaf. Frontispiece is a full color facsimile of a watercolor painting by Ogden M. Pelisner of several fishermen in a boat on the lake entitled, "Playing a Big One - Down's Gulch" from the collection of The Sporting Gallery and Bookshop, Inc., New York. Illustration is protected by a tissue guard. Also contains a list of illustrations and is indexed. xx, 193 pp. CONDITION: Sans dust jacket, but a VG copy of this classic. Head of spine shows some wear and general rubbing overall, sunning, but very sound. The most authoritative work on the Atlantic Salmon in North American waters. Many leaves are uncut at the foredge, yet show very little foxing and are completely unmarked and uncreased. Pages have delightfully and evenly toned. Illustrations are lovely. Stamp on the copyright page reads "This is an unnumbered copy for review purposes only." A wonderful find and perfect gift for any fisherman.
