Loosely based on the 1956 novel by Grace Metalious, and preceded by the 1957 film, directed by Mark Robson, and starring Lana Turner and Hope Lang, and the 1961 film, "Return to Peyton Place," directed by José Ferrer, and starring Carol Lynley and Tuesday Weld.
