Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. New Spanish Painting and Sculpture The Museum of Modern Art essay by Frank O'Hara Published by Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1960. softcover catalog. Jul 20Â Sep 28, 1960. Among the painters to be represented are Canogar, Chillida, Cuixart, Farreras, Feito, Lucio (Munoz), Millares, Rivera, Saura, SuaVez and Tapies. Among the sculptors will be Cbillida, Chirino and Serrano, Although individual examples of the work of some of these artists have been shown in international exhibitions such as the International Exhibit of Contemporary Painting and Sculpture at the Carnegie Institute, the Venice Biennale and the SSo Paulo Biennale, as well as at a Recent Acquisitions show at the Museum (Jan. - Apr., 1959)> this will be the first large exhibition in this country devoted entirely to these new developments in Spanish art. The exhibition at the Museum has been scheduled for over two years. Museum staff members came into direct contact with these new tendencies in Spain when "Modern Art in the United States" was shown in Barcelona in 1956, and studied them still further during the Madrid showing of "The New American Painting" in 1958. "MOMA Press Release" "some cover wear, clean a tight and very good inside".
