Frontispiece in light brown, Pen&Ink w/ artist's name and "'97". Late 20th century fiction by British novelist Dinah Maria Murlock Craik, b.1826-d.1887. First published in 1856, "John Halifax, Gentleman", is the work for which she is most known, and reportedly is based loosely around the life of John Dobell, a Cheltenham wine merchant. Good.
