Condition: Very good. New York: Frederick Keppel & Co., circa [1910]. [1910]. Very good. - 12mo [5-5/8 inches high by 3-1/2 inches wide], softcover bound in printed gray wrappers. The front wrap is lightly creased & soiled with a light stain & some minor foxing. The spine & the adjacent edge of the front wrap are slightly darkened. 42 pages, including 11 black-and-white plates reproducing etchings, a lithograph & a woodcut by Millet. Very good. Jean-François Millet [1814-1875] was a French painter and one of the founders of the Barbizon school in rural France. Millet is noted for his scenes of peasant farmers; he can be categorized as part of the Realism art movement. This text is focused on Millet's work as an etcher.

Paperback. circa 1911. Small, grey wraps; black lettering. 42 pp. with 11 bw plates. The essay by Mrs. Van Rensselaer is reprinted from The Independent. Keppel's essay is a sketch of the Life of Millet. Also included is a list of Millet's original etchings, the plates of which were destroyed in order to avoid any further proofs being made. VG contents, but covers have some wrinkling and a sticker on front.
