Cloth. Condition: Good. Not Stated (illustrator). A very scarce collection of stories for children, with illustrations throughout. Very scarce. Dated from ink inscription to the front pastedown. Illustrated with six full-colour images and many monochromatic sketches in-text. A charming collection of stories for children from various authors. With titles including: The Owl's Ghost Story, A Treasure from the Sea, and The Hamper's Story. Written by Mrs. Macquoid, or Katharine Sarah Macquoid, a British novelist and travel writer who published over sixty works, Geraldine Glasgow, a Scottish writer, Minnie Faulkner, an English writer, and many others. In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and chipping resulting in light loss to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd handling mark and ight age toning to the extremities. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown dated 1893. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. A 2" closed tear to the rear endpaper. Good. book.
