First Edition. Signed twice by actress Patricia Morison who played the finest villainess in the Basil Rathbone - Nigel Bruce film series with her 1946 appearance in Dressed To Kill. She has signed the book on the first title page, and then signed it again on the full page portrait of her and Basil Rathbone in the chapter on Dressed To Kill. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. The book has the finest illustrated study of the Rathbone - Bruce films to be found in any book. A wonderful piece of Sherlockiana. Miss Morison was known as the actress with the longest hair in Hollywood (39Ó long) and was promoted by Universal as a 'rival' to Dorothy Lamour when she changed her hairstyle to a middle parting. Patricia Morison appeared as the terrifically elegant villainess opposite Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in the Sherlock Holmes film Dressed to Kill (1946). She became a Broadway star when Cole Porter chose her to play the lead in his classical musical, Kiss Me, Kate.
