In 12. 298 pages Dernière édition de cet excellent traité de jardinage et d'horticulture composé par Claude Mollet (1557-1647), premier jardinier du roi sous Henri IV puis Louis XIII. Seule l'édition originale, publiée en 1652 au format in-4, comprenait des planches gravées ; les trois éditions suivantes, données en 1663 dans le même format, puis en 1670 et en 1678 dans le format in-12 ne sont pas illustrées. Les chapitres astrologiques, devenus désuets, ont été retirés de l'ouvrage, auquel on a ajouté, en revanche, un traité pour la culture des fleurs servant à l'embellissement des jardins. qq rousseurs et trous de ver qui ne nuisent pas a la lecture.

Dernière édition, sans iconographie jointe et sans la partie astrologique, de ce titre paru pour la première fois en 1652 (au format in-4 et avec 22 planches). Il s'agissait déjà, en 1652, d'une publication posthume, l'ouvrage ayant été rédigé dans les premières années du règne de Louis XIII, et ayant été publié par les soins d'André Mollet, fils de l'auteur. Claude Mollet (1557-1647) appartenait à une grande dynastie de jardiniers qui travailla pour les Rois de France de Henri II à Louis XV. Premier jardinier du Roi sous Henri IV et Louis XIII, il partageait la responsabilité du jardin des Tuileries avec Jean Le Nôtre (père d'André Le Nôtre, et dédicataire). Il intervint aussi à Fontainebleau, Saint-Germain-en-Laye et Versailles, alors simple domaine de chasse. Ami d'Olivier de Serres, ce fut un paysagiste de premier plan à l'époque baroque, et il éleva la construction du jardin d'agrément au rang d'art à part entière, avec un parallèle entièrement voulu avec le travail de l'architecte sur les bâtiments.Ganay, 20.
