First Edition
rigide. Married to Count Lionel de Moreton Chabrillan in 1854, she followed him when he was appointed French Consul in Melbourne. Rejected by the good society, she took the opportunity to cultivate and write, including "The Golden Thieves": "this book, I began to write to distract me.What was just a whim became a passion, I did not burn him, because I love him, he was my companion in exile, the confidant of my troubles, the friend of my thoughts.
