Inscribed across the top in ink "To my colleague, Dorothy de Maria. to happy memories and thanks. Sincerely Mildred Dilling." code 'NY-1876' in the lower right corner. Mildred Dilling (1895-1983) was a concert harpist who performed for five Presidents. She owned the world's largest collection of harps (65 in her apartment alone) and taught Harpo Marx, Deanna Durbin, Laurence Olivier and Bob Hope among others. She performed throughout North and South America along with the orient and Europe. At her peak she was giving 85 concerts and traveling 30,00 miles a year. Her first concert at the White House was for Warren G. Harding and on six more occasions she gave concerts there. Very good clean copy of the photograph. Signed by Author(s).
