Libretto of an opera in one act by Polish composer & conductor Krzysztof Eugeniusz Penderecki (1933 -) based on the play by Gerhart Hauptmann. 48 pgs. Set in winter, 1662, following the Thirty Years' War, in the remote village of Bolkenhain, Silesia. First performed at the Salzburg Festival, 1986; andin America by the Santa Fe Opera, 1988. As new condition white boards/yellow spine/black spine lettering contained in an as new condition non price-clipped color illustrated dust jacket. Includes Authors' Dedication; Preliminary Page Quotes by William F. Buckley, Jr. and C.S. Lewis; Welcome to Our Book; Acknowledgments; and Index. "This book needed to be written, needed to be published, and needs to be read. Best of all, it's great fun to read." -- Brit Hume. "End of Discussion will actually start more conversations than it finishes. Mary Katharine and Guy are two of the bright stars of conservative commentary, and their insight and humor comes together well to showcase the absurdities of manufactured outrage and the benefits of taking a breath before launching an attack." -- Dana Periono, former White House press secretary and co-host of The Five on Fox News. "A brilliant expose of the Left's outrageous outrage over EVERYTHING! Free speech isn't free. It must be fought for. Get in the fight with this FANTASTIC book!" -- Brad Thor. "I can't thing of any two people more qualified to expose the Left's decidedly undemocratic efforts to silence opposing views. With their characteristic wit and humor, they take on the outrage industrial complex on behalf of fun -- and freedom-loving Americans everywhere." -- S.E. Cupp. "Will make you laugh -- and cry -- at a world where honest debate is all too rare." -- Juan Williams, Fox News liberal analyst. "Come for the writing and the humor, stay for the point: The 'outrage industry' is destroying politics. Benson and Ham have diagnosed a new kind of media cancer, one that is metastasizing and eating away at our ability to survive as a free people, freely debating our future. Yes, that sounds serious for a book with as wornderfully light a touch as this, and one so full of laugh-out-loud moments. But it is true. That's why you need to read this book." - Hugh Hewitt. "They want to shut you up. But don't let this be the End of Discussion. In this fresh and provocative new book, Mary Katharine Ham and Guy Benson, dynamic Fox News and Townhall Media duo, expose how the Left exploits fake outrage to silence their political opponents -- in public, on social media, at work, and even in theri own homes. End of Discussion encourages all Americans who value the open exchange of ideas to fight back against this strategic effort to make America less free, less feisty, and less fun. Ham and Benson demonstrate just how dangerous the outrage industry -- a coalition of mostly liberal blowhards and busy-bodies -- is to democracy. This media frenzy: Disqualifies opposing viewpoints on everything from health care to infrastructure to education by labeling them racist, sexist, and evil; Punishes speech that makes them uncomfortable; Demands boycotts, firings, regulations, and other economic costs for the sin of disagreeing with them; Seeks to win the debate by preventing it from happening. If you think this behavior is relegated to political fights or politicians, think again. A network of well-trained operatives, nonprfit groups, PR firms, universities, politicians, and "thought leaders" exists to foment outrage over YOUR association with the "wrong" fried chicken joints, internet browsers, breast cancer charities, children's toys, Halloween costumes, TV shows, schools, and even comedians' jokes. With Ham and Benson's help, readers can cut through the noise and find their voices again, fighting back against the rampant self-censorship and hair-trigger apologies that always make things worse, not better. With fresh reporting and insightful, occasionally tongue-in-cheed, analysis, End of Discussion is a timely handbook for anyone who wants to make sure debate doesn't meet an ugly death." -- excerpt from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders served as White House Press Secretary for President Donald J. Trump from 2017 to 2019. A trusted confidante of the president, Sanders advised him on everything from press and communications strategy to personnel and policy. She was at the president's side for two and a half years, briefing and battling with the media, working with lawmakers and senior administration officials, and accompanying the president on every international trip, including crucial meetings with foreign leaders. In Speaking for Myself, Sarah Huckabee Sanders describes what it was like on the frontlines and inside the White House. She reveals fascinating firsthand details about a range of subjects, including: Her account of what President Trump is really like and the stakes in the 2020 election; The historic summit between President Trump and North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un; Trump's confrontation with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer over the wall and immigration policy; The Russia witch hunt and her interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team; Fighting back against attacks from the liberal mob at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, the Red Hen, and during the Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation battle; Maintaining her priorities of faith and family. This frank, revealing, and engaging memoir offers a truly unique perspective on the most important issues and events of the era, and unprecedented access to both public and behind-the-scenes conversations within the Trump White House." - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.

Publisher's statement (in part) "[.]Vincent Fitz Gerald & Company, publishers of limited-edition artists' books, will celebrate its thirteenth anniversary with the publication on August 25, 1993, of its 27th volume, AFTER, a long poem by critic and translator Michael Feingold, with twenty etchings by the celebrated photographer Judith Turner. Published in a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered copies, the edition is also an object in itself, a continuous sheet of folded paper, bound over boards, that may be read and viewed from both sides, or set up as a freestanding sculpture. [.] Feingold shaped the poem to fit the shape of the book as it was evolved by Turner and Fitz Gerald; the somber and often violent imagery of the words was evoked by the austere beauty of the prints, transformed from Turner's original photographs through the delicate and complex process of photogravure etching on copper plates . a classic 19th century technique renewed by modern technology.
