This postcard shows Estadio de Toros and Plaza de Toros in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Estadio de Toros was a bullfighting ring that saw its heyday during the 1950s and 1960s. Plaza de Toros was built in 1952 by Don Pedro Gonzalez. After border crossings became more difficult (many of the spectators came from the United States) and bullfighting became less popular, the stadium fell into decline during the 1970s. There are currently plans to revitalize the stadium and plaza as a venue for concerts, rodeos, and the like.
