Read more about : John Diller, woollen mills, Reesor's Socials, Little Rouge, Crown Deeds, Cedar Grove, townline, York, Henry Lapp, Abraham Grove, and apple butter kettles. Shorley Day, who trained at the Ontario College of Art, provides some very helpful b/w drawings. Cond : Paper wrapper is yellowy-orange with black lettering. Volume is tight bright, square and clean. Some wear at spine tail and hinge. No names. Excellent history reference . QUote (p. 64) : " The school has been kept in good condition and up to date (although erected in 1869). When there is something to be done, it is usially done by a `bee' which puts on a roof or ._._._. . " Size: 8vo.

Rather than a history, this is an investigation into the natural surroundings in Cedar Grove, its people and its various phases of development written with curiosity and a light heart. Author lived with her husband and daughter on Old Mill Road in the shadow of Peter Reesor's stone house for twenty years and was Cedar Grove correspondent for the Markham Economist and Sun for sixteen years. Discard stamp upon front flyleaf else unmarked. (not an ex-library copy). Moderate wear and soiling. Solid copy.
