The illustrated cover has some wear on the edges and corners, a crease up the spine, and the lettering and illustration, which were once gold, are partially faded and darkened. The covers are starting to come loose and the spine is coming loose from the bound edge. The first page, a color plate of the Emperor of Japan, is about 50% separated from the book. Otherwise, the inside is in excellent condition with no other damage or markings.
