Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Wilson, Edward A. (illustrator). Very good condition hardcover with printed boards, no dust jacket, in cardboard slipcase. Literally rendered from the Arabic into French by J.C. Mardrus, and then translated into modern English by E. Powys Mathers, with in introduction by C.S. Forester and illustrations by Edward A. Wilson. Slipcase is sunned, and edges and corners are bumped and rubbed, with a small tear noted at the upper fore-edge. Boards and spine are lightly blemished. Binding is sound and pages clear throughout. LW. Used.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. Eric Fraser and Frank Martin (illustrator). 1st Edition. 1980 A photo-litho reprint of the Folio Society 1958 Letterpress Edition. 4 volumes in slipcase. Size quarto, 9.75" tall. 644, 592, 569 and 537 pages. Paper covered boards, the paper is red with a heavy gold repeat pattern to it, ivory marbled paper spine sections with gilt titles on the spines, Top page edges dyed red. Housed within plain ivory coloured card slipcase. The slipcase is worn, rubbed at the edges and dust darkened and one of the edges has split. Book conditions very good plus to near fine, spines slightly dust marked, there are darkened patches on the covers of the first two volumes, from handling it appears, other than this the condition is fine, the contents are exceptionally clean in all the four volumes. A very attractive set enhanced by the illustrations of Eric Fraser in volumes 1 and 3 and by Frank Martin in volumes 2 and 4.

Frontispieces, charming and profuse black and white fullpage plate woodcut illustrations by Eric Fraser and Frank Martin. Very good clean tight sound square, no bookplate, inscriptions or marks of any kind, well held in joints and hinges. Beautifully bound in bright gilt lettered, ruled and illustrated white Japanese vellum gently rubbed to spine, backed over gilt illustrated red boards. Two original glassine dustwrappers remain to Vols I and IV, torn with portions of loss at head and creased to Vol I. An interesting set with attractive binding. A good addition to the library of reader and collector alike. Heavy sets incur additional postage, particularly and posibly prohibitively oversees.
