Number 1076 of 1500 copies thus, SIGNED by the illustrator in pencil to limitation page, and printed by The Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, VT. Publisher's red quarter leatherette, with gilt titles to spine and marbled paper over boards. Red endpapers. A crisp, clean copy internally, showing some minor wear to boards. Near fine. The Nobel-Prize winning author's famous novella, basis for Luchino Visconti's 1971 Oscar-nominated movie starring Dirk Bogarde. First published in German in 1912, and first published in an English translation in 1924.
