Illustrated end papers, color tipped in frontispiece with tissue guard and 18 black and white plates throughout the book. DUST JACKET: the jacket has an oval cut out to show the front cover paste down. There are four rips around the cutout without paper loss and a two inch section at the top of the oval that is missing. The jacket is in a protective cover and still presents well. BOOK CONDITION: Very mild rubbing at the spine ends, covers are very clean and the paste down is intact and very attractive. Spine lettering is clearer than it appears in the scanned image. The binding is tight and the interior is very clean and unmarked. All plates are present, secure and in very good condition. DESCRIPTION: Translated by Alexander Teixeira De Mattos and illustrated by Herbert Paus.
